It’s my birthday!

As you may know, today is my first birthday! Humom says I am true Shiba royalty because I was born on the day of a royal wedding. Well, I agree, I am Shiba royalty, but it has nothing to do with whatever she’s talking about! *HUFF*

As a celebration for my birthday my humans decided to take me on a super pawesome hike. They took me on the Chambers Creek Trail in the Plumas National Forest. There were tons of smells and stuff to look at, I was having a blast! The humans even made me walk across a creek, but I didn’t mind so much. About half a mile from our destination, I decided I was gonna roll in some dirt. I figure it’s my birthday and I do what I want! Well, the humans thought I needed to be brushed off because I’m not allowed to get dirty. That’s when they noticed TICKS! This was my first encounter with these nasty little creatures and I hope it’s the last! The humans decided to cut the hike short and took me straight to the vet to get the ticks removed.

Going to the vet was the LAST thing I wanted to do on my birthday, but I behaved myself. I screamed at the vet tech a couple times, which was actually hilarious because she had no idea such a noise could come out of a dog! BOL!

Once we got home from the vet I figured it was time to milk the birthday vet visit for all it was worth. Let me tell you, I rocked the shiba mind control. I got cheese and steak with dinner, a bully stick, ziwipeak venison noms, new squeaky kong tennis balls, a deer antler, and I got the couch all to myself for naps. Overall, I’m pretty satisfied with how today turned out.

I plan to make the humans feel guilty by showing them the tick bites as often as possible until they’re healed. Shiba mind control!

I love hiking with the humans, this place was pawesome and I hope I get to go again… as long as there aren’t any ticks!!

Getting ready to roll in the dirt!!

Banjo - Missing Shiba in Bay Area - CA

Please reblog, tweet, etc.!!

A beautiful eight month old Shiba escaped Monday evening from his owners right after they moved to a new home in Oakland from Emeryville. He was just beginning a promising show career and was the light of his owners’ lives. The owners have done all they could in searching for him and are continuing their efforts. If anyone has a suggestion, please e-mail Jacey Holden at jholden[at]jps[dot]net and she will forward the info to the owners. There is a very good chance that someone has him as he is a very friendly dog.

Mom got a sewing machine for her birthday on Monday. As her first sewing project she decided to make me this pawesome fleece blanket. It’s red (like me!) with paper lanterns and flowers on one side and red with white dots on the other side. Quite fitting for a Shiba princess. In fact, it’s so pawesome I commenced the Shiba 500 in celebration when Mom gave it to me.

EMERGENCY SITUATION. PLEASE REBLOG!
This beautiful girl was found earlier today by Home FurEver volunteers. Emaciated and with a large tumor on her belly, she has been rushed to an emergency vet. She is in dire need of help, and we need your help to help her! If you can donate any amount, whether it be $1 or $50, please send it to Goldie’s chipin here.
While looking for another dog, this beautiful, older, female, chow mix asked for help. She is emaciated and has a large tumor on her belly. We are taking her to the emergency vet now. She will need a quiet, loving foster home to recover. We will need help with her medical bills and a foster home. Please call or text Marilyn at 313.645.4399 or email homefurever@comcast.net She is a very nice girl.

UPDATE:

Emaciated chow mix found on Dickerson and Loretto today. She weighed 17lbs when i took her to the vet. She probably should weigh at least 40lbs. She has a tennis ball size growth on her lower belly and I don’t think she can hear. She appears to be quite old. Please spread the word. Just to run tests to see if she is heartworm positive and have bloodwork done and the growth looked at is going to be $173.00. Details to come after we hear from the vet what the growth is. Please share her story. Please donate to her Chip In if you can.

Mom finally created a personal twitter account (@sachisheeb) for me. It’s about time, Mom!!

My humans felt so guilty yesterday after dressing me up as a ninja, that they bought me a new squeaky toy that looks like a fox (HUFF!) and an r/c car for me to chase!!! Both toys are pure awesome.
